how gorgeous is the packaging for the NARS Under Cover summertime 2016 collection?
I am about the new NARS Under Cover summertime 2016 collection and the brand’s first foray into the liquid lipstick market.

Their new Lip Covers are incredible! They’re vibrant and long-lasting like a liquid lipstick, but with none of the dryness and discomfort, so generally exactly what you’d expect from NARS.

ADVERTENTIE

I have to admit that I am totally biased when it comes to NARS (here’s another publish with my favorite NARS products), but even so, I truly do feel these are awesome.

The Under Cover summertime 2016 collection includes four of these new Lip Covers, four double intensity Eye shadows (I like this formula!) and two double intensity Blushes. This publish is all about the Lip Covers, but stay tuned for evaluations of everything else. For now, I’ll just state that the whole collection is gorgeous. If anything looks irresistably interesting, snatch it up! The collection is limited edition, and the products are available now at the NARS website (and coming soon to other retailers).

So, the Lip Covers — Do Not Disturb, get Dirty, members only and Overheated — I truly such as this formula, and I hope they add a lot more colors in the future (fingers crossed!).

The NARS Lip Covers
I believe the shades NARS selected to release with the collection are quite interesting. There are two nude shades (Get dirty and Overheated) and two red shades (Do Not Disturb and members Only).

On the one hand, I appreciate that they’re providing us two variations on each color family, especially since it’s so hard to find a good nude, but on the other hand, I want even a lot more variety, because the formula is that groot.

Here are swatches of the Lip Covers, and I did these with a heavier hand to ensure that you could see the structure and finish.

They look glossy in the pics, but once they dry down on your lips (which takes just a couple minutes), the finish looks a lot more satin than glossy.

And here’s another shot with different lighting:

I believe orangey red Do Not Disturb looks extremely similar to Maybelline vivid Matte liquid Lipstick in Orange shot (which I reviewed a couple weeks ago).

Nude pink get dirty has somewhat peachy undertones, and it reminds me of Maybelline vivid Matte liquid Lipstick in nude Flush, but with just a tad a lot more peach.

And then there’s berry red members Only. Maybelline vivid Matte liquid Lipstick in Berry boost nearly passes for a dupe (in terms of color, not formula), except that it’s a bit less pink.

Overheated is what I like to phone call “a dirty nude.” For comparison, it’s much a lot more brown than the Maybelline vivid Matte liquid Lipstick in nude Thrill. It’s closer to Maybelline Truffle Tease and MAC among the Fireflies.

Wearing NARS Overheated from the Under Cover summertime 2016 collection
Despite having colors that are similar to the Maybelline vivid Matte liquid Lipstick collection, the NARS Lip Covers feel totally different.  These NARS Lip Covers are thinner and feel much a lot more like a traditional lipstick on my lips (the Maybelline liquid lipsticks have a lot more of a mousse-y texture).

The Lip Covers also dry down to a semi-matte finish, whereas the Maybelline liquid lipsticks are a lot more glossy.

And then there’s the scent. These Lip Covers have a extremely slightly, hardly noticeable floral scent, while the Maybelline liquid lipsticks have a much stronger floral fragrance.

I believe NARS totally nailed it with this Lip Cover formula, because these liquid lipsticks are intensely pigmented, long-lasting, and so much a lot more forgiving (and less drying) than most other liquid lipstick formulas.

They aren’t transfer-resistant, though, but they will last with light snacking and drinking.

My only problem is that I want a lot more colors! but these four are available now for $28.

In case you’re curious about what else I’m using in these pics, that’s Giorgio Armani Maestro glow foundation in 8 (LOVE how light and glowy this is; I have a full evaluation on my blog) // NARS sexual content blush (also from the Under Cover collection.  Swatches coming soon!) // Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow in Caroube (Chanel just recently released a lot more shades of this formula, and here are swatcHES EN Evaluaties van eerdere kleuren) // Marc Jacobs Fluwelen Noir Major Volume Mascara // Glossier Kid Brow in Black // Boscia White Charcoal Mattification Make-up Setting Spray (volledige evaluatie aankomende!).

Wat denk je? Zou je deze proberen, of ben je over de vloeibare lipstick-trend?
